First Painting of the Great Seal
This large 45 x 66" oil painting is the work of unknown artist. It was painted in about 1786 and has always hung in St. Paul's Chapel, New York city.
The constellation of stars are correctly depicted in a natural formation,
as they are in other early realizations of the Great Seal.
